Singer Pete Burns Dies of Heart Attack

Singer of the 1980’s pop band Dead or Alive, Pete Burns, has died at the age of 57 from a heart attack. Burns rose to fame with Dead or Alive’s 1985 hit “You Spin Me Round (Like a Record),” which hit No. 1 in the U.S. and around the globe. The british singer’s management team confirmed the singer’s death Monday morning and released the following statement:

“It is with the greatest sadness that we have to break the tragic news that out beloved Pete Burns of (Dead or Alive), died suddenly yesterday of a massive cardiac arrest,” they said in a statement. “All of his family and friends are devastated by the loss of our special star. He was a true visionary, a beautiful talented soul, and he will be missed by all who loved and appreciated everything he was and all of the wonderful memories the has left is with.”

Burns’ management team said they will release more information once they have “had a chance to come to terms with our devastating loss.”
