COLUMBUS – Police say a teenager shot a woman to death before turning the gun on himself in a South Franklin home Sunday.
Investigators say the 16-year-old shot the 21-year-old woman in the 700 block of Canonby Place at approximately 5:16 p.m., then shot himself, Sgt. Michael Smith of the Columbus police Homicide Unit said.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene while the teen was taken to a hospital in critical condition, Smith said.
The names of the woman and the youth are being withheld pending notification of their families, Smith said.
