COLUMBUS – The city of Columbus is throwing open five rec centers for kids who are looking for some fun ways to pass the time while the Columbus City Schools are on spring break.
The Office of Violence Prevention, Columbus Public Health, and the Recreation and Parks Department are teaming up to sponsor a week of events at area community centers, starting Friday.
The following rec centers will be open from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. on different days to welcome the school children:
March 29: Barnett Community Center, 1184 Barnett Road
April 1: Beatty Community Center, 247 N. Ohio Ave.
April 3: Barack Community Center, 580 E. Woodrow Ave.
April 4: Douglas Community Center, 1250 Windsor Ave.
April 5: Glenwood Community Center, 1888 Fairmont Ave
Activities include a video game truck, basketball tournament, face painting, a bounce house, canvas painting with a Columbus artist, and more, with food and snacks available.
Youth of all ages are welcome and no registration is required.
