DeWine focuses on children in his State of the State address

COLUMBUS (AP) — Improving access to child care and health care for children form core elements of Gov. Mike DeWine’s agenda in 2024.

The second-term Republican delivered his State of the State address Wednesday to a joint session of the GOP-controlled Legislature.

He also mentioned efforts he says can boost Ohio’s economy.

Those include expanding child care and keeping more college graduates in the state.

DeWine wants to create a child care voucher program for families that meet income eligibility requirements.

He also wants to start measuring how many Ohio college graduates get a job within six months.

And he wants to ensure every child who needs eyeglasses can get them.
