Father charged with murder of 3 young sons at SW Ohio home

MONROE TOWNSHIP (AP) — A man has allegedly shot and killed his three young sons and wounded their mother at their southwest Ohio home.

Prosecutors say Chad Doerman admitted to planning the shooting and lined up his children to execute them with a rifle.

Clermont County’s chief prosecutor of Municipal Court, David Gast, said during Doerman’s arraignment Friday that one of the boys tried to flee into a nearby field but Doerman “hunted” his son down and brought him back to their home before killing him.

Doerman’s bail has been set at $20 million. Court records did not indicate whether he was represented by a lawyer at his arraignment. He is currently being held in Clermont County Jail.

The Clermont County Sheriff’s Office says in a news release that deputies responded to the home in Monroe Township shortly before 4:30 p.m. Thursday and found three boys, ages 3, 4 and 7, outside with gunshot wounds.

The three children died at the scene.

Their 34-year-old mother was shot in the hand during the shooting in the community about 75 miles west of Columbus. She was transported to the hospital.

Doerman, 32, was found sitting on a stoop at the family home.
