AAA Ohio is offering a variety of packages, some including airfare, some without, which the auto club expects to sell out quickly.

“We do have pretty good availability but it is somewhat limited so we recommend that people jump on this quickly because there are only so many (game) tickets available…and the hotels as well,” Kimberly Schwind, AAA Ohio senior public affairs manager, said.

The AAA packages (from Dec. 29-Jan. 2) range from $1,575 per person for a package without airfare for a group of four to $3,939 per person for a single traveler flying out to the game.

The prices include hotel accommodations, game tickets in the end zone, ground transportation to the Buckeye Bash pep rally, the Tournament of Roses Parade and the game, Schwind said.

Game tickets can be upgraded and the tours offer some optional activities such as a tour of the parade float-building facility, Universal Studio theme park and grandstand seats for the parade.

Ohio State receive approximately 22,000 tickets for the game costing $180 apiece and members of the public who buy them through a Department of Athletics website are guaranteed seats in the allotment. Seats will be assigned based on when orders are received and tickets will remain on sale while the supply lasts. Advance discounted game day parking permits are also available.

This will mark the Buckeyes’ 15th Rose Bowl appearance and first since 2010. The Buckeyes own a 7-7 all-time record at the game.

Ohio State won its second consecutive Big Ten title on Saturday night with a 45-24 victory over Northwestern at Lucas Oil Stadium.

Washington won the Pac 12 on Friday evening by defeating Utah, 10-3, at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif.

The Buckeyes and Huskies have played 11 previous times, all during the regular season. Ohio State has won eight of those 11 games, most recently a 33-14 win in Seattle in 2007.

This year’s Rose Bowl will be the first appearance in Pasadena for Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer, who is 11-3 over his career in bowl games.
