COLUMBUS – An unidentified woman was killed and another woman injured in a shooting in Franklinton early Thursday morning.
The woman, described as being between the ages of 30 and 50, was shot to death inside a home in the 100 block of Rodgers Avenue by officers called to the scene on a reported shooting at approximately 2:58 a.m., Sgt. Scott LeRoy of the Columbus police Homicide Unit said.
The victim’s name is being withheld pending positive identification by the Franklin County Coroner’s office and the notification of her family.
A 29-year-old woman also suffered a gunshot wound in this incident and was in critical but stable condition at a local hospital.
The circumstances surrounding the shooting and suspects were unknown early Thursday, LeRoy said.
Man shot to death on East Side
Police are looking for clues in the fatal shooting of a man on the East Side early Monday.
Officers dispatched to the 2000 Block of Winslow Drive on the report of shots fired at approximately 2:36 a.m. found Aaron J.W. Washington suffering from apparent gunshot wounds, Sgt. Edward Powell III of the Homicide Unit said.
The 25-year-old Washington was pronounced dead at the scene by Columbus Division of Fire personnel.
