COLUMBUS – Columbus police are looking for a suspect, possibly as young as 14, who climbed to the roof of a downtown condominium building and pushed a large speaker off the roof to a patio several floors below.

The suspect, described as being between 14 and 20 years old, was wearing a chest-mounted GoPro camera when he got into the building in the 100 block of N. High Street sometime between 4:21 and 4:39 p.m. on March 6 gained and accessed to the rooftop patio where he pushed a large speaker off of the roof onto a patio several floors below, Sgt. Jeff Spencer of the Property Crimes Bureau.
“Had someone been struck by the speaker it would have caused serious physical harm,” Spencer wrote in a Division of Police press release.
The suspect then fled the building, pulling the fire alarm on his way out “which required multiple fire apparatuses to be dispatched to the location,” Spencer said.
The suspect is wanted on potential charges of trespassing, criminal damaging, and making false alarms.
