I just love chatting with my high school friends and laughing about our favorite songs and crushes from “back in the day.” Last night was one of those chats with my girls Holly and Cass. We were remembering how much we loved the movie “Eddie and the Cruisers” and “that song.”
“That song” is “On The Dark Side” and it’s sung by John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band; used in the movie Eddie and the Cruisers, On The Dark Side is from the 1983 soundtrack starring Tom Berenger and Michael Pare’. The song peaked at #7 on the Billboard Hot 100. On The Dark Side didn’t get much air play after the movie Eddie and the Cruisers was pulled from theaters after just 3 weeks for poor box office performance; it wasn’t until the movie was played for a month on HBO that On The Dark Side found it’s chart success.
