Cricket is an 8-month-old Blue Heeler
Cricket is available for rescue at the shelter due to behavior concerns. He originally arrived at the shelter after being picked up running loose as a stray on 11/10. He was made available for adoption on 11/17 and has been in 2 different homes since then. He was adopted on 11/17 and they returned him on 11/28 due to severe separation anxiety. They said he was crated when left alone and was only alone for approximately 3-4 hours at a time. Cricket destroyed household items, is not housebroken, likes toys, and likes car rides. They said he may do well in a home with other dogs.
He was taken as a foster to adopt on 11/29 but returned on 12/01 due to severe separation anxiety. The person was gone for 3 hours and Cricket had broken out of the crate and shredded several pillows. They reported that Cricket did well in the crate at night though. They also said Cricket was very clingy in general and wouldn’t go outside without the person and followed them from room to room.
Cricket has not participated in playgroup but seems to show positive interest in other dogs. Due to his return reasons he is looking for a herding breed experienced family preferably with another playful dog in the home for company.
He is available for direct adoption. To meet Cricket, please email rescue@franklincountyohio.gov or schedule an appointment to visit him at the shelter.

Honey is a 2-year-old Medium Mixed Breed
Honey is hoping that 2020 turns around for her. Honey was a Friends of the Shelter dogs in 2019. She had a cardio exam at MedVet for a heart murmur, thanks to your support. She was diagnosed with subaortic stenosis. She was then adopted and was unfortunately recently returned–not because of anything she did, but because of changes her family was experiencing due to COVID.
Honey spent Thanksgiving with a foster family and they simply raved about her! They gave her glowing reviews and said that her super power would be making sure there was no bad in the world. Our vet team says she is one of the sweetest dogs ever. She loves people, other dogs and stuffed toys.
Now, we want to turn 2020 around for her. She needs a forever home that is committed to making sure she gets her heart medication and having her regularly monitored by her vet. In return, you’ll get this sweet girl’s devotion and love. She is definitely worth a little extra time and care! Check her out here and make an appointment today to meet this sweetie.

Pepper is a 3-year-old Rottweiler
Pepper is full of energy here at the shelter. She recently went on a sleepover and we learned while she is shy initially, she soon warms up to people and is super loving! She doesn’t bark in the home, is well-behaved, house-trained, and is a giant cuddle bug. Are you ready to add a little Pepper to your life? Schedule an appointment and visit the shelter today.
