“Mony Mony” is from Billy Idol’s 1981 EP “Don’t Stop” and his 1987 album “Vital Idol.” The live version from the 1987 album peaked at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100. The song was originally recorded in 1968 by Tommy Jame and the Shandell’s, and interestingly enough, Idol’s version displaced another Tommy James remake from the top spot in 1987; Tiffany’s “I Think We’re Alone Now.”
