“At This Moment” is from Billy Vera and The Beaters’ self-titled album and was originally recorded in 1981, to not much fanfare. It wasn’t until the song was used in a scene on Family Ties in 1986 between Alex P. Keaton (Michael J Fox) and his girlfriend Ellen (Tracy Pollan, whom Fox would end up marrying in real life) that the song found success; peaking at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100. Fox has said in interviews over the years that he and Pollan couldn’t go on a dance floor for about ten years without the dj playing “At This Moment.”
