“Election Day” is from Arcadia’s 1985 album “So Red The Rose” and peaked at #6 on the Billboard Hot 100. Arcadia was the side project of Duran Duran members Simon Le Bon, Nick Rhodes and Roger Taylor and features Grace Jones on backing vocals and speech segments. The video was directed by Academy Award winner Roger Christian, known for his work on the original Star Wars film, Return of the Jedi, and Alien, among other films. Author William S. Burroughs also makes a brief cameo in the video, which was filmed in Paris, and is based on Jean Cocteau’s 1946 film La Belle et la Bete.
