Name That Tune took us back to 1986 this morning with one of my favorite songs to sing! So much fun!
While they released three albums, Georgia Satellites could fairly be labeled a “one hit wonder” band, due to the fact that their only real hit is from their self titles, debut album. “Keep You Hands To Yourself” was released in 1986 and peaked at #2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, kept from the top spot by Bon Jovi’s “Livin on a Prayer”. That same year the MTV Video Music Awards were created, and director Mary Deacon won Best Art Director for the video to “Keep Your Hands to Yourself”. The song has been covered by many country artists over the years, including Garth Brooks, Hank Williams Jr and The Charlie Daniels Band.
