“Cry” is from Godley and Creme’s 1985 album “The History Mix Volume 1” and peaked at #16 on the Billboard Hot 100. After they left the band 10CC, Godley and Creme started working on an album and patching together a song they had started writing in 1978, about a man who’d partner is cheating on him to the point it makes him want to cry. Much like their song “I’m Not In Love” with 10CC, the song was not written my a particular personal experience. The video would become quite influential in the mixing and transition of faces for future video use, and the actors in the video were hired from the London Ugly Agency.
