Name That Tune – Guns N’ Roses – Sweet Child O’ Mine

“Sweet Child O’ Mine” is from Guns N’ Roses 1988 album “Appetite for Distruction” and peaked at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100. The song began as a warm up, circus type melody that Slash would do as an exercise before playing with the band. Within the hour, his guitar exercise would become the band’s break out song. Axel Rose wrote the lyrics to the song with his girlfriend Erin in mind (daughter of Don Everly from the Everly Brothers), inspired by the writing style of Lynyrd Skynyrd.
