Name That Tune – Janet Jackson – Nasty

“Nasty” is from Janet Jackson’s 1986 album “Control” and peaked at #3 on the Billboard Hot 100. Inspired by a real incident when some men tried to flirt with Janet on the street. In an interviews she explained: “When I was working in Minneapolis, I was walking from the hotel to the studio, and there were all these guys hanging around, shouting seriously sexual stuff, some really dirty stuff. I went in and started working on the song right after that. The video was directed by choreographed by Paula Abdul (who also made a cameo).  Abdul won an MTV Video Music Award for “Best Choreography” and Janet won Favorite Soul/R&B Single at the 1987 American Music Awards.  Panic at the Disco’s song “Miss Jackson” was inspired by “Nasty.”
