Name That Tune – Joan Jett and the Blackhearts – I Hate Myself For Loving You

Name That Tune traveled back to 1988 this morning with a lady I first say my senior year of high school in Charleston, West Virginia. The college guys I worked with at the radio station in my teens, got us tickets, and she opened for Robert Plant. It was an epic night.

“I Hate Myself for Loving You” is from Joan Jett and the Blackheart’s 1988 album “Up Your Alley” and peaked at #8 on the Billboard Hot 100. Former Rolling Stones guitarist Mick Taylor played the guitar solo on the song.
Joan Jett and the Blackhearts were nominated for the Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group Grammy at the 31st Grammy Awards for “I Hate Myself. “
