The song was nominated for a 1985 Grammy for Best Pop Vocal Performance Male and is about a phone call John had with his then wife after they’d been apart for some time and he’d had several affairs on the road. John re-recorded the song with country singer Alison Krauss as a duet for her 2007 album “A Hundred Miles Or More: A Collection.”
