Name That Tune – Paula Abdul – Cold Hearted

Cold Hearted is from Paula Abdul’s debut album Forever Your Girl. The inspiration for the video comes from Bob Fosse’s choreography of the “Take Off With Us” scene from the movie All That Jazz. Paula was very nervous about the rap in the middle of the song because it went so fast, but she pulled it off. The rap was repeating certain phrases and words twice in the song.

Cold Hearted spent a week at number one in September 1989 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, ending Richard Marx’s three week run at number one with Right Here Waiting. In total, the song spent 8 weeks within the Billboard top ten.
