Written by Annie Lennox and Dave Stewart after not only their break up with the band The Tourists, but also their own personal relationship break up. The two decided to continue to work together proffessionaly and the lyrics for the song were written by Annie about her reflection on the unhappiness she felt during their break up with the band.
