“Life Is A Highway” is from Tom Cochrane’s 1991 album “Mad Mad World” and peaked at #6 on the Billboard Hot 100. The song was written in the 80’s after Cochrane came back from a trip to East Africa with the famine relief organization World Vision and was trying to get the shocking poverty he’d seen out of his head. “Life Is A Highway” originally started out with a slower tempo and the title “Love Is A Highway” before Cochran would shelve the song for a few years before rewriting the theme and tempo for his “Mad Mad World” album.
