Name That Tune – T’Pau – Heart and Soul

Gawd, do I looovveeee this song!

“Heart and Soul” is from T’Pau’s 1987 debut album Bridge of Spies. The song was used in a Pepe Jeans commercial in 1987 and it helped the single reach #4 on the Billboard Hot 100. Unfortunately, it was the band’s only hit in the United States, leaving them with a “one hit wonder” title. T’Pau were named after a Vulcan high priestess on Star Trek after lead singer Carol Decker watched an episode and suggested the name to the band. The rest is history. Carol was also offered the role to play Don Johnson’s wife on Miami Vice and she declined; the role went to Sheena Easton.
