COLUMBUS – Urban Meyer will be prowling the Ohio Stadium sidelines until January 2023, thanks to the Ohio State University Board of Trustees’ approval of a two-year contract extension.

The trustees voted to approve the contract extension on Friday.
The pact includes an approximately $1.2 million dollar pay raise, bringing his total salary to $7.6 million, making Meyer the highest paid coach in the Big Ten Conference and third highest nationally.
Meyer, who will be 58 when the contract extension expires in January 2023, completed his sixth season as head coach in 2017, during which time his teams compiled a 73-8 record, including a 47-3 record in the Big Ten with conference championships.
Ohio State won the inaugural College Football Playoff national championship in 2014 with Meyer at the helm, the eighth national title in school history
Meyer is the winningest active FBS coach with a record of 177-31, third-winningest coach all-time in Division I football, trailing only Knute Rockne and Frank Leahy.
